Big Turn Music Festival - 2025
This year, we downsized our Big Turn Music Fest programming to minimize disruption to the shop, as we had several projects in progress. There were no helium balloons, neon signs, or graffiti picnic tables. We booked six acts (instead of eight), started an hour earlier than in past years, and featured smaller performances. However, the spirit of BTMF couldn't be contained, and we reached building capacity for four out of the six performances.
Big Turn Music Festival - 2024
The 2024 Big Turn Music Festival was a delightful throwback for us, with helium balloons, a neon sign ambiance, and amazing music spread across two nights of fun and festivities. It brought warmth and excitement to what would otherwise be some of the coldest, darkest, and slowest days of the year.
Big Turn Music Festival - 2023
After a few transitional years, the 2023 Big Turn Music Festival truly returned to its original format, boasting festive crowds and a wide array of musical genres. One performance that will be remembered in Red Wing Framing history was by Murder Curious, a classic power trio punk band that really brought down the house.
Big Turn Music Festival - 2022
Last year, due to the coronavirus, the Big Turn Music Festival (BTMF) was limited to a single location at the Sheldon Theatre and featured only one artist, Cloud Cult. This year, the festival returned to its original format, with multiple venues spread across a walkable area over Friday and Saturday. It was a delightful experience to participate once again for the fourth time.
Big Turn Music Festival - 2020
The 3rd annual Big Turn Music Festival (BTMF) took place this past week, and it was fantastic! We introduced a new feature this year with an autograph/graffiti picnic table, encouraging visitors to leave their mark. We also hosted eight bands over two evenings, and it was an absolute blast.
Big Turn Music Fest - 2019
Big Turn Music Festival (BTMF) had their second season this month and we participated again with eight bands over two nights. It was every bit as fun and successful as the first year with the added element of a blizzard.
Big Turn Music Fest - 2018
We had the pleasure of participating in the inaugural Big Turn Music Festival (BTMF) in downtown Red Wing on February 16-17, 2018. This festival spans multiple venues, featuring musicians or bands performing short sets in various locations, from retail storefronts to churches. It brought a lively and festive atmosphere to what are typically some of the coldest and quietest days of the year.
As one of the smaller venues, with a capacity of 39, we hosted eight groups over two nights. We reached full capacity several times, and the music was truly exceptional. We look forward to doing this again next year.
